French Bread

my french bread

This is my mama's best french bread recipe...I've made it several times, and we call it "the tablespoon bread recipe".
French Bread
1 heaping T. butter, 1 heaping T. sugar,
1 heaping T. salt, 1 T. dry yeast,
2 & 2/3 c. hot water
Combine, then stir in flour (about 6 & 1/2 cups) to make dough. Kneed for 8 minutes on floured surface. Let rise one hour, then shape into loaves. Let rise again, then bake at 350 until lightly browned on the underside. For something a little different, I like to braid a loaf just for fun. This recipe slices up very well and is lovely with any meal. Enjoy!

Whoa, those loaves are beautiful, Morgan. I've not been very taken with my own recipe for French bread, so I'm definitely going to want to try yours ... and hope I can produce loaves even a fraction as lovely. Thanks for sharing! Ü

Morgan!!!
I am sorry I haven't been on here since forever!!! I hadn't realized you came back from you bloggy break ages ago and just hadn't checked in a while.

However, I have thought about you and wondered how you were doing. I was very happy to see a comment from you today!
Hope all is well!
